continuing  R & D  Program

Progressive research and development is the foundation for developing new techniques in the die casting process. We participate in the North American Die research programs and have been chosen as the pilot plant for the development of several production techniques now widely accepted as standard in the industry. 

Continuing research has given us the ability to cast custom gating formulas to assure sound castings. When new tools are designed, we utilize the state of the art models and simulators. Both flow and thermal analysis are carried out, allowing us to perform "what if" scenarios before tool steel is cut. Gate and runner design, as well as water line or hot oil line placement are determined at this time. Scrap is reduced; die fatigue and washouts are reduced; and die life is increased. Our R & D has also led to advanced shot monitoring techniques to assure consistency from one casting to the next. 

Our experiments with die steels and die coatings mean Ace Precision Casting customers get maximum die life. Ace Precision Castings has also become the leader in sensor technology. Through use of sensors on our dies, we can determine the optimum speed and temperature of metals injected into the die cavity, making the casting process more efficient.
